We stayed for one night in Antigua. First part of a photographic impression…

Antigua

Some pictures of an early sunday-morning walk.

It is very refreshing to be at 1500 meters above sea-level. It is less hot and not so humid as the tropics at sea level. Antigua, once the capital of Guatemala, has a perfect view of some of the volcanos of Guatemala. It is the cultural center of Guatemala.

You can walk the whole city in one hour. The only small inconvenience are the roads that are made of cobble stones. But there are restaurants and bars in every street to give your feet some rest.

I’m most impressed by the view of the volcanos, the street vendors and the brightness of the colors.
