Club Nautico has the only dinghy-dock in Cartagena for boats at anchor. It is overprices and not ergonomic.

Not much has changed in five years, except for the prices. The toilet and shower areas are in the same deplorable condition. The dock has just detoriated 5 years more. The only change is the big white plastic tent close to where you dock your dinghy. To have more customers and a more awkward entrance to the club or your dinghy.
There is a possibility to get water in the jerrycans in your dinghy. You have to be lucky to get to the right spot when there are not many dinghies around.
You see the idea that once was there—the thick ropes in the concrete piles—combined with plants in buckets. Nice idea, specially if there is not a dinghy-dock on the other side.
This and the stepup-stepdown from and to your dinghy makes this dinghy-dock
one of the most unfriendly ones I’ve seen in the Caribean.
The price for this service is 80$ US a month! It is vastly overpriced. More expensive then Key West and not so nice to use. Furthermore, you are entering ‘Club Nautico’, the place where you can have a beer, watch TV or have a dinner. When you have your dinghy over there, for sure you will enjoy a cold beer so now and then. So, why overprice this dinghy-dock? Is it because it is the only one in Cartegena?
If you expect quality for your money, you will not be satisfied here:
- The dinghy-dock is not taken care of for 5 years
- It is very awkward to go from dinghy to shore and from shore back to
your dinghy
- If it is low tide (a feet is enough and happens here) your dinghy can
slip under the dock to be crashed by incoming tide later on, if you are
really unlucky
What can we do?
Club Nautico has a monopoly. There is no other place to get ashore in your
dinghy and be shure your dinghy will be there if you come back. The
monopoly is a fact, but we don’t need to accept abusive prices. We can at
