If you have a boat and want to change something, the first thing is to deconstructed what there is. This is always hard and only with a lot of patience and the right tools you succeed not to demolish a part of the boat. I learned the hard way.

Where would we be without wood ? In all the countries they have their favorite woods. The names are local names, except Teak or Mahogany. I decided to give a try with a local wood what they call here in Colombia Abarco. It is cheap, heavy and hard. They say it is durable in salt water. My first experiences.
Getting things done in a foreign country can take some time. You have to know the local available materials, the prices—otherwise you pay ‘gringo-prices—and what you can expect to get.
Most of my contributions to the SponsoredByTheWind website arrive by email. It is what I have available most of the time. I make my emails and when I have the opportunity to hook my laptop to the Internet I send all my emails. One of the things that I miss by doing this by email is the control over the navigation. But there might be a possibility. Using tags in my email-posts.

Today I went to Pedro Heredia, the street where you have to go to buy whatever you want. I decided not to walk, but to take one of the motorbikes that drive around. There are more of those then taxis, they are cheaper and quicker, and of course it doesn’t rain here. For one person to go somewhere in Cartagena, it is the way to go.
